Associate Director, Research
University of Michigan
Rachel Brandell-Mayers is Associate Director of Development Research at the University of Michigan, where she enjoys setting achievable steps towards lofty goals. Rachel found her way to the world of prospect research by way of her love of food. As a pastry baker at Zingerman’s Bakehouse (rated by Inc. magazine as one of America’s coolest small businesses), Rachel discovered that she loved thinking strategically about business more than making croissants. She made a move in that direction, and became business manager of Sweet Heather Anne, a custom cake shop. Rachel was instrumental in laying the foundation for the cake shop, creating structures and processes to support a successful brand, sound finances, and superior product. In her spare time Rachel enjoys cooking, reading, and the simple pleasures of life.
Rachel is working on becoming an expert on women & philanthropy.
